THE MESSAGE FOLLOWS THIS BRIEF COMMENT I just want to get something straight before anyone has any misconceptions.My name is Rick Carnes and I'm not a Preacher or Priest or anything clerical. I'm just a regular born again Christian that wants to let others in on what I have. I'm not a college grad and never went to seminary or anything like that. But the things I'm going to tell you came from something better than a good education can give, What I have I got from God and from the written word of God ,The Bible... How many people can say they died before? This week I want to talk about what happened to me recently. I had a heart attack a couple of months ago. I died and they had to bring me back with the paddles. The reason I bring this up is someone in my family told me one time that they weren't worried about living for the Lord right now and that people can be saved in the twinkling of an eye. Which is true, but, you can also die in the twinkling of an eye too! I am proof of that. I was in the hospital and I was on a heart monitor. The nurse was in the room and was talking to me, I noticed she was watching the monitor pretty close. All of the sudden she says "Mr. Carnes take a deep breath through you nose for me right quick" ( I was on oxygen). As I did that I looked up at the monitor which was above my head and to the right, It was going crazy. The next thing I know I was waking up and a bunch of doctors and nurses were over me and asking if I was ok. I said yes I think so, and they told me I was gone for a minute or so and they had to use the paddles to bring me back. Anyway why I bring this up is...That shows how fast you can leave this world. I was lying in bed before all this started, having the doctor tell me that they may have to do open heart surgery on me. When I was alone I prayed to God and said to him.... Father take me home with you if that is your will but if you have something I need to do here on earth then keep me here if it is your will. I wanted to share this with you because I want you all to live the Lord. And if you have any doubt that you are truely saved that you might get on your knees right now and ask forgiveness. Because you don't know when or how you will die and I am proof it happens very quickly. For those who may be reading this who think they may not need God, I have some news for you: John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not parish, but have everlasting life... Roman's 3:10 says... As it is written, there is none righteous,no,not one... Roman's 3:23 says... For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Roman's 6:23 says... For the wages of sin is Death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord... Romans 10:9-13 says... That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference in the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Basically what this says is..... none of us are perfect we all have sinned and not done what God wants of us and because of that we are without God. And if we die without God we are doomed to spend eternal life in Hell where there will be wailing an gnashing of teeth, but through Jesus we can live eternally with him in heaven!!! But if we confess aloud that Jesus is Lord and deep down in our heart we believe it, the Lord will save us!!! Think about it, wouldn't it be wonderful to be with God and to see His face in all it's glory? I tell you friend it can happen!!! It's really simple, all you have to do is admit you are a sinner and that you want God to forgive you for those sins. Thank God for Loving you enough to give up his Son on the cross and thank Jesus for dying, so that we may live forever!!! If you want, say a prayer something like this.... Heavenly Father, I know I am lost and without hope, I know I'm a sinner, and I pray this day that you'll forgive me of my sins and help me to do your will, and thank you father for sending Jesus to die for me so that I may live my life eternally with you in heaven. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen If the Lord really comes into your life you will be able to tell it, for Gods word says in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Give your self to God today!!!
